Symposium: Water Flowing Together – Two Eyes, One Ocean

Thursday, October 16th, Iona

You are invited to this upcoming knowledge sharing event, a collaboration to explore the potential for a future “Pitu’paq Living Lab” within the Bras d’Or Lake UNESCO Biosphere Region.

A Living Lab is a place where Western science, Indigenous knowledge, community, and culture can intersect, in this case for consideration of sustainable economic futures within an exceptional coastal, rural setting. We would benefit from your voice and ideas in shaping a sustainable coastal future.

This collaboration is enriched by growing relationship across the Ocean with the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) in Oban, Scotland. Researchers and artists from Scotland will join us both in-person and remotely to celebrate the twinning of the Aros Na Mara Discovery Centre with the SAMS Ocean Explorer Centre.

Come and discuss with the stellar panel members and join the conversation with members from the community focused on the unique aspects of the Bras d’Or Lakes and its impact on science, culture, and the economy.
