Nicholson Trail

The Nicholson Trail, located just north of Baddeck on Big Baddeck Rd, is a scenic 3.5 trail that takes about an hour to complete. The trail is free to access and open year-round. It’s perfect for summer hiking and running, as well as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter. Well-marked signage guides visitors along the way, and provides insights into the diverse tree species found throughout Unama’ki.

The trail was built and maintained by the Biosphere Northeast Trails Association.

QR codes being prepared to put on those signs will link you to more details about the 15 species identified by signage along the route. You can review the details below. You may wish to download the file before starting the walk in case there are issues with the internet access along the route. Enjoy your trail walk!
