Reconciling with The Land & Each Other

CEPI representative on the BLBRA Board and part-time videographer Stan Johnson of Eskasoni along with his brother Tom, recently produced a short video called Reconciling with The Land and Each Other which was played simultaneously in Ottawa at the AGM for the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and at the UN General Assembly in New York on June 7, 2018. This was the only Canadian Biosphere video represented. (English subtitles will be added shortly to the video where needed.)  This video is complemented by a reflection paper entitled The Bras d’Or Lake Biosphere Reserve: A Celebration of Natural and Cultural Ecology. On August 9th, CCUNESCO celebrated International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples by launching this paper in which Annamarie Hatcher of Bras d’Or Lake Biosphere Reserve Association reflects on her experiences exploring other ways of knowing in the common ground between Mi’kmaw and Western Science.
