The Annual General Meeting of the Biosphere Reserve Association was held on Sept.29th, 2011 at the Big Pond Fire Hall. Over 50 people attended a short business meeting, followed by an excellent presentation by Fred and Lynn Baechler, local hydrogeologists (exp.services, inc.). Fred gave the presentation that dealt with sea level rise and what land owners along the coast line should consider when developing their property. Fred’s knowledge about the science of sea level fluctuations – both natural and man-induced – was impressive!

The Board of Directors for 2011-2912 were elected at the AGM. Three long time members – Vince MacLean, Albert Marshall and Philip MacLennan retired this year and many thanks for their years of service were expressed. Three new board members elected that night were Emily MacDonald, Liz MacCormick and Tom Johnson.
