What are the Goals of a Biosphere reserve?
Biosphere reserves have three major functions: conservation, economic development, and capacity building.
- Conservation of countrysides, ecosystems, species, and genetic variation.
- Economic development – that is socially, culturally, economically and ecologically sustainable.
- Logistic support/Capacity building for research, monitoring, education, and training activities related to the promotion of conservation and sustainable development.
